The End of Redemption

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

This is the letter I hoped to never write.

There is no easy way to say it so let me just get it out: with deep sadness and heavy hearts, we have come to the decision to end Redemption Church. In talking with denominational leaders, other pastors, family and friends they have all been in agreement that it is time.

We held our last service this past weekend on Resurrection Sunday, April 21st, 2019. We wanted to end on a hopeful note. As heartbreaking as ending Redemption is for us, we have a Living Hope, a risen Christ!

There are numerous complicated factors that have led to this decision: our family’s well-being, the challenges of our financial situation, the lack of other co-laborers, and the significant cultural changes of our neighborhood.

Each one has different weight and importance, but they all have collided together leading to this difficult decision.

While this is the end of Redemption Church, God's church continues to grow, move, and expand. The gates of hell will not prevail. Jesus is building his church. And we trust in God's Word: No work of the Lord is in vain. God wastes nothing.
